Save Your No’s

There are so many important times when we need to say no to our kids. No hitting. No going onto the road. No touching that sharp knife. But I try to save my no’s for the times when I really need them. When I need to keep them safe, when I need to have a hard limit. And when I don’t need to say no, I don’t. When I can say yes, I do. When I can redirect, I do. When I don’t NEED to say no, I don’t. I save my no’s.

Want to paint on your body (or mine) with washable paint? Let’s do it!

Throwing a ball in the house? Want to go outside and play with that!

Running around instead of getting ready for bed? Hey, let’s see if you can get ready for bed in turbo speed?

Save your no’s.
